The core technologies of our 3D cameras – open to OEM partners

The development of CMOS image sensors and FPGA-based high-performance cameras as well as our long experience with optical metrology are the core competence of Heliotis AG. These technologies form the basis of our high-performance components and 3D sensors.

Heliotis’s experience and technologies are also available to OEM customers who develop and market their own sensor products. If required, we help you to design and manufacture your own products and carry out parts of your production and logistics. Even special developments are possible. Contact us to discuss your specific OEM task with us.

Patented heliSens™ Technology

In-line imaging technology requires fast CMOS image sensors. This is especially true for WLI sensors, where the 3D topology is typically extracted from ten thousand to one hundred thousand images.
The in-pixel signal processing patented by Heliotis makes it possible to capture and process sectional images at a rate of 1 Mfps. A large part of the signal processing happens in parallel directly in the pixel array.

FPGA/Embedded Cameras

Heliotis develops high-speed cameras that optimally support the heliSens™ image sensors. The sensor data is further processed using FPGA-based algorithms to achieve the shortest possible latency times. Electrical interfaces allow real-time communication with the master controller.
The standards-based software interface GenICam allows an easy and robust integration into your image processing software.

Hardware-Oriented Programming

Customer-specific requirements can be implemented efficiently thanks to a modular software stack. The programmatic possibilities include micro code on the image sensor, FPGA firmware for parallel algorithms and an embedded Linux OS for smart camera applications.
Especially for OEM customers far-reaching adjustments are possible.

Custom Optics for WLI Sensors

Optics for WLI sensors are far more complex than conventional 2D optics. In addition to the usual requirements regarding resolution and distortion, boundary conditions of interference must also be taken into account.
Heliotis has a long standing experience and an infrastructure for the design, production and qualification of WLI optics.
