On October 13, 2026, the Swiss quantum community will gather at the Quantum Industry Day in Switzerland (QIDIS) in Zurich. Heliotis will be exhibiting and demonstrating a practical application of our Lock-in technology in the field of quantum sensing.

Measuring Magnetic Fields with NV Centers in Diamond

NV centers (nitrogen-vacancy centers) in diamond possess quantum mechanical properties that can be used for high-resolution measurement of magnetic fields, among other applications. Changes in a magnetic field influence the state of the NV centers and thus their optical fluorescence signal.

The challenge: The relevant changes in light intensity can be very small and must be reliably separated from a much larger background signal.

This is precisely where the heliCam™ C4 Lock-in Camera comes into play. Its pixel-parallel lock-in detection enables modulated optical signals to be demodulated directly at the image plane. This allows even small signal changes to be captured as images with high dynamic range.

Live Demonstration at the Heliotis Booth

At Quantum Industry Day, we will demonstrate the heliCam C4 in an NV diamond experiment for imaging measurement of magnetic fields. Visitors can experience firsthand how very small changes in the fluorescence signal are transformed into a spatially resolved measurement image.

Our expert Laura Linkl looks forward to showing you the setup and discussing Lock-in imaging, quantum sensing, and your own measurement applications with you.

Visit us on October 13 in Zurich and experience the heliCam C4 in action.
