Quality control requirements in the watch industry are continuously increasing. Ever tighter tolerances, demanding surfaces, and a growing degree of automation require powerful yet easily integrable measurement solutions.
At EPHJ 2026, Heliotis presents modern 3D measurement technology for precision manufacturing – from flexible at-line measurement to complete integration into automated production and inspection systems.
Precise 3D Measurement Technology for the Modern Watch Industry
Heliotis develops and manufactures high-precision 3D measurement technology for demanding applications in precision manufacturing. Our solutions are used worldwide in the watch industry, medical technology, the semiconductor industry, and numerous other sectors where the highest accuracy is required.
At EPHJ, we demonstrate how modern 3D measurement technology can help monitor manufacturing processes, reduce scrap, and sustainably improve product quality.
Automated Measurement of Complete Part Trays
The centerpiece of our trade show presence is a live demonstration of an at-line 3D measurement system that can automatically and highly accurately measure complete trays of watch parts.
The solution is suitable for both production monitoring and rapid analysis of quality deviations directly near the production line. Multiple components can be inspected in a single measurement cycle, significantly reducing inspection effort while enabling comprehensive quality control.
Create Measurement Recipes Easily via Graphical Workflow
Measurement tasks can be defined without programming using an intuitive graphical workflow. Users can quickly create new inspection programs and easily adapt existing recipes to new components or product variants.
This reduces setup times, facilitates the introduction of new products, and increases flexibility in daily production operations.
Precise 3D Sensors for Machine Integration
In addition to the at-line system, we present our high-precision 3D measurement heads for integration into processing machines, robot cells, and fully automated inspection systems.
The sensors are based on industrial white light interferometry and enable non-contact 3D measurements with submicrometric precision. Thanks to their compact design and robust construction, they are suitable for both OEM machine builders and system integrators who want to integrate highly accurate measurements directly into their systems.
Surface Analysis and Roughness Measurement According to ISO 25178-2
Another highlight is the analysis of surface roughness on real workpieces with different machining processes.
We demonstrate the automatic determination of modern areal roughness parameters according to ISO 25178-2 and show how manufacturing processes can be objectively compared, monitored, and optimized. The non-contact measurement enables rapid and reproducible evaluation even of demanding surfaces.
